When you operate under a pseudonym I think its important you tell people the truth.
![]() Whether youve got beef with pseudonyms or not, I hope to dispel some of the negative stigma associated with pretending to be someone else. Its not like I write about a bunch of great accomplishments Ive never done, posed in front of a borrowed jet, or displayed doctored photographs of all my bank accounts. I write about all that happens to me in the world of indie creators. As a writer, my work is focused around writing and helping those who write sell more of their stuff. I use my pseudonym to draw a line between my private life and my public life. I dont really want you stopping-by for coffee, or stalking my house. Im an introvert. But I do love helping people, so I help the best way I can through my work. I got to pick my own name, which sounds much cooler on book covers than my real name. Ive got issues with people who think Im a liar. Maybe I am. But I mean well, so I sleep at night. Im so used to the name, if you saw me on the street, Id answer to it. But theres one big benefit this alter ego offers me that my real name never will: I have the power to overcome myself. I can take all my personal failings and stuff them deep in a drawer, only allowing the best parts of myself to rise to the top. My alter ego allows me to muster more courage with my writing. My family does, but most dont understand the extent of my reach. I can walk inside and put on my red underwear and my sweet cape maybe play hero for a minute. Maybe you do. Cool. There are so many authors who write under pseudonyms, itd take many pages to list them all. There are writers who use different names for different genres. Ive done that. There are writers who are scared for their safety to use their own name.
